Does anyone find the relationship between Hartingan and Nancy in Sin City to be a bit disturbing?

In Sin City: That Yellow B*stard, Hartingan goes from loving Nancy like a daughter to loving her like a lover all in one night. Am I the only one who finds this a little weird?

It's supposed to be a little wierd.

Practically the whole movie is wierd.

It's still one of my fave live action comic book movies, though.

I thought he was repressing it for all those years, so not really- her feelings were weirder to me than his... Kind of a misplaced father figure/savior syndrome that mutated into desire by the movie's end. But it was certainly consistent with how everyone and everything else in Sin City was - fallen.
