I would get there before the store closes and sleep by the front door. I did this when the ps2 came out. p.s don't ever drink anything after 10:p.m and hve a lot of food for the night.

After the launch date, stores will probably distribute them as they come in. Which means that if its 1:00 PM and they get a shipment, they may be sold out by 1:30 PM. Its first come first served here on out for most retailers.
So I suggest getting there at 9:59 AM :).
Friday is Black Friday though so stores might be opening earlier than usual, so check the ads on thursday.

Camp out. It's your only option for getting a wii. I got to the store at 8 am and missed every console...

If its anything like PS3 and critical to your happiness, you may want to camp out in front of the store.
