Can a Phlebotomist from Brazil (10 year experienced) practice in the US? Is a person from another country who practiced this still required to get their certificate? May they practice without the license?

Certification is optional, but highly recommended because most employers require it. The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists and the American Society for Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) are a few of the organizations that offer national certification and testing, which earns phlebotomists the title Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT). Phlebotomists must recertify each year to maintain certification.

However, he will also need a Work visa , from the US consulate.
