Most birth control pills take more than one full cycle to have full effectiveness. You shouldn't be having unprotected sex anyway, because the pill doesn't protect you from any diseases.

When I first started to take the pill, almost 7 years ago, my doctor told me to take it for 1 weeks before having unprotected sex, she told me to use a condom during the first week of taking the pill, even the instructions in the package will say that. I don't know why you are bleeding.

i had break through bleeding when i first started. sometimes i still do. if i forget to take a pill when im supposed to and then take it later, i usually do. i wouldn't worry about it. birth control is 99% effective when taken properly without any other means of protection. use a condom from now on though. it saves you a lot of worrying. the more you worry, the later your period is and it sucks! good luck.

OK, I won't tell you -- you already know it.

Two days isn't long enough for The Pill to start working. You probably have breakthrough bleeding, but don't take chances -- have the guy get a pregnancy test kit from the drug store. (It's less embarrassing for guys.)

Unprotected sex & bleeding are unrelated. But yes you were dumb!
