Disney World is offering vacations for a family of four at approximately $1,600. This includes lodgings at a value resort and park tickets. But it seems like you can make adjustments to the vacation package. Check out this link for more information.

There are many factors that could change the cost of your vacation: which resort would you stay at, what type of tickets do you want-Park Hopper, No Expiration...etc-what type of dining options do you want......
I have gone the past 2 years in September. Around March or April, Disney offered a 5 night/6 day package deal with a free dining plan for $435.00 per adult. This package included 5 nights at a value resort, 6 day admission to the parks and the Disney Dining Plan for free. (A 6 day base ticket costs $208.oo per person, one night in a value resort is $77.oo per person, and the dining plan costs about $37.00 per night per person- for a total value of $775.oo per person) This was a great value that I couldn't pass up. I spend an addition $150.oo each for airfare. Two adults had a 6 day vacation for about $1200.oo total.
This was just how we did it. I am going back in December for 7 days, but am staying off property, so it will be a different experience. You can cut lots of expenses in different ways or you can go all out and stay at a more expensive resort. I have heard people here say that they go for a week and it costs almost $10,000 for 2 people. Just depends on your lifestyle choices. The most important thing is to GO & HAVE FUN!!
If you look on the Disney World website you can find deals, or make plans you can even plan a vacation and figure costs. Look around the site.
There are also other sites out there that offer lots of info, and even others that specialize in Disney Vacations.

3,000 or less staying at a value or moderate resort on site. This is around the price we paid when we went during free dining month for a week with 4 adults and 1 child.

I go to Disney every year, and every year i try to spend less money. It´s a hard task, but you can do it. If you stay in a moderate resort for 5 days, your package without foods wil be around US$2,000. then, go to a cheaper hotel and visit the other parks (Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea Word). I stay in Orange Lake, and spend around US$600 for another 5 days. I ussualy spend US$4,000 with a lot of shopping in a week in Orlando.

My boyfriend and I go to Walt Disney World each summer. We go all out on our Disney vacations, so we usually buy the most expenive package that includes EVERYTHING. And we always stay at Disney's Polynesian Resort, one of the most expensive. We always stay for at least 10 days, too, so it ends up being quite expensive.
Our vacation packages usually end up being bewtween $8,000 and $9,000. Remember, that's just for the two of us. It's very expensive, but worth every cent because we have the time of our lives and we get access to EVERYTHING. But, of course, you can get a decent package for a couple thousand dollars.

It depends on many factors...where you stay, how much you plan to spend on souvenirs, how much you plan to spend on food etc.
In our experience we have paid anywhere between $1700 and $4000. Obviously when we spent $4000 we stayed at a luxury hotel. I would plan on at least $2500.
