You shouldn't try to speed up your delivery, the baby really does need to stay in, as it's lungs aren't ready for him to come out yet. Take advantage of these last few weeks to get the house in order, write out holiday cards, get the house decorated, stock up on necessities, etc. because once that baby comes, the next 4-6 weeks after revolve around that child.

As a mom of 11, I know that feeling well! The last few weeks is the roughest, and we want nothing more than to be done with it! Sadly, until your body is "ripe" and things are ready, nothing short of trauma will probably work just yet. Your baby is much farther ahead staying right where it is- this is the time the lungs are maturing, and it is honestly downright dangerous to tamper, tempting as I know it is. I've delivered one at 37 weeks, unexpectedly, and his first few days were spent on life support in the neo- natal intensive care unit at a major hospital. Not cool at all.

I'm right with you a little over 37 weeks and so ready. I walk every day, do housework, and am about to ask my doctor to strip my membranes. The father is out of town and won't be back for awhile so sex isn't an option for me but I was told alot of sex works wonders. He'll like that and it probably makes up for him not getting any for 6 weeks after the baby comes.

I know you're probably getting very impatient at this point, but the best thing you can do for your baby and your body is just wait and let things happen. The longer your baby can "bake", the better.
Your doctor may want to do an induction, but be informed of the risks before you make this decision. Inductions can lead to long and painful labors, and increase the risk of needing pain medication or a C-Section.

Go the All-Natural way...try two tablespoons of Castor Oil in an 8ouce drink of orange juice once a day and start taking PrimRose Oil Capsules once three times a day. By doing this it ripens the cirvex preparing you for the big day and hopefully sooner with doing the above. You can get the above at a health food store

I know how you feel, believe me! I'm currently 38 weeks and am SICK of being pregnant. Try Red Rasberry Leaf tea, nipple stimulation, sex, bouncing on a yoga ball and walking to speed up the dilation process. Don't do anything to physically demanding -- you don't want to hurt yourself or your baby! I'm currently drinking the tea and bouncing on a yoga ball to try and shift my daughter farther down. I've only been doing it for one day and so far she's come down a bit and is no longer in my ribs (yay!). You can also ask your OB to stretch you during examinations. Mine did that two weeks ago and it helped me to dilate a centimeter and my mucus plug started to break up as well.

Don't, your baby will come when it's good and ready. Forcing it, even though you are at 37 weeks, will cause a lot more stress on you and the baby.

You cant... once they want out they are out. If they dont want our they wont come out. My friend was pregnant for 40 weeks and 2 days. she did evrything and she just wont come out. But to take that pain off your back i would say go to the pool and swin it helps a lot.
