Ok, I like this guy in one of my classes (I'm in grad school). I think he likes me, but may be intimidated because I'm black and he isn't.
Once he told me that he liked me, but he had been drinking, so I didn't take him seriously.
Any suggestions about telling him how I feel. I see him everyday, so I don't to make him uncomfortable, and I'd like to maintain a little dignitiy?????

just be relaxed and comfortable, don't be too excited if he likes you back...that's a big turnoff. it will be good if you come off relaxed and have your act together. good luck.

Just go for it.

What do you have to lose. Nothing at the present time.
If a black person or one of another ethnic origin was to come to me and say that she liked me, I wouldn't think a negative thought about it. Because, how would I know if this person was or wasn't my soulmate. How would I know that the two of us could or could not have a very long term relationship without trying. In today's day and age, interracial unions shouldn't be much of a problem. Unless it is for the very closed-minded.

Now in your case, there is only one way to find out. Isn't there!

Depending on how much he had to drink, many guys are at their most honest after a few...You know the old saying "In vino veritas" (In wine lies truth!)

Pull an old high school / undergrad trick...ask him to study together. Or simply ask him to get a drink with you. If you arrange a daytime, happy hour drink, it seems less like a "date" and you both might be more comfortable.. You don't have to tell him everything until you are ready.

You should take the drunken confession seriously. If he really didn't like you, he wouldn't have said so. Drunk or not.
Ask him if he wants to go have a few drinks over the weekend. Maybe make it a group thing and just flirt with him while you are together. Just don't let him take you home if he's drunk :)

Ask him what would he do if he liked someone and did not know how to tell them then be quiet and listen for your answer from his perspective!

If he is in grade school and already drinking, then I think you will be wasting your time dating this loser.
