which severe storm lasts the longest? hurricanes,tornadoes,blizzards,thunderstorms
and why?

Hurricanes, because they have the vast supply of warm, moist air at their disposal, whereas the other two, their conditions are only prime for a few hours, or in a tornado's case, minutes, where a hurricane can last for a few weeks, if you count the pre- and post hurricane status.

Hurricanes and blizzards are almost equal in duration. Blizzards have to last a long time to be considered a blizzard, otherwise they call it a snow shower. Blizzards can last up to 18 hours. And i have been in a hurricane and it lasted about the same.

Hurricanes.Hurricanes which forms over ocean surface become weak only after crossing the shore(as warm water is the main source of its energy)or reaches an area in the sea itself where conditions are not favourable ie cold water surface.so when the hurricane forms thousands of miles away from the shore, sometimes it takes many days to reach the shore and hence lasts for a long time.
