Is effective but it has its secondary effects which you have to be very careful. I was 180 and 5'3 and was a size 16,at the time where diet or exercise was doing nothing for me,i tried them and about 3 months later i went down to a size 12. But it was like some people here a saying, you eat and you eat the wrong things, better have a bathroom in handy, cause you are going to need it and fast. With the pills you have to have a balance diet, it doesnt mean you can eat everything in front of you now and let the pill work....NOOOOOTTT!!! you have to eat healthy, the pills are just to help you out a little, but..but..but and a big BUT, study has shown that people that abuse the pill had gotten very sick, like they have gotten MS, which means that the pills had taken away the fat from nerves and other parts of your body which are needed to keep you going. SO be careful consult your doctor before anything.
Good luck
P.S. after i went down to a size 12 i drop the pills and started in Weight Watchers and now im a size 8 :) and happy

Taking Xenical can work if you can commit to keeping a food diary. Xenical binds fat, keeping the body from absorbing it. You will be limited to 40 grams of fat or less on a daily basis. Be warned, that taking Xenical is like a case of diarrhea, allowing fatty waste to escape. So don't just assume it's gas, if you feel the need to "let one rip", or you will have an oily mess to clean up. By limiting your fat intake, you will loose weight.

You will still need to exercise and stick to a low-fat diet. Xenical IS effective, if you can. The most studied diet drug ever.

Consider Xenical as antabuse for fat in the diet. You learn to eat less fat the hard way.. becosue if you don't there is a nasty side effect called "anal leakage". See Battle rats description of "mess in your pants"...
the good side is that with a better diet, you do reduce your lipid caloric intake and become healthier and "lighter" for it.
