ants do sleep, or at least have a stage where they respond noticeably worse to external stimuli and are inactive. You just don't see ants sleep because they do that in their nest, not outside. You don't see many people sleep on the streets either, do you?
Why we sleep is a still unsolved and very intriguing question. Especially for something that essential. Clear is that people (or animals) can even die for lack of sleep. As it is a complex subject look up more details at the link below.

coz ants are simple creatures. We need to sleep to recharge our energy inorder to continue on with our lives. u dont have to question everything humans are born with or act upon, its simply human nature. humans unlike ants, btw i have no clue if ants sleep or not, were created to sleep and rest.

Ants do not have the brain that humans have. The human brain needs sleep, not the body itself.

We are "higher" beings and our brains/bodies need to recharge. Our lifespan is much longer than an ant's.

I don't know if they sleep or not, but they have a heck of a shorter life span than we do. Sleep is essential for us. Why who knows? Maybe we have to "delete and download" the days information.
