I can't help you there. I planned on going back to work after I had my baby but; once I took a look at her, forget it! I stayed home, and I am so thankful that I did. No only was I exhausted but; I was there for it all. The first time she truely smiled, the first time she crawled, her first word, her first steps, the list goes on and on and on. I would have kicked myself in the butt if I had gone back to work and missed out on any one single thing. I went back to work when she was 3, it's her time now. She goes to school (pre), has new friends, time away from mom... The highlight of my day is when I pick her up and she comes running to me, elated at the sight of me yelling "Mama". Stay home and enjoy your baby. They are only babies once and for you to miss out on the first year at the very least, is truely, your loss.

I don't think you should have to "prove" anything to your spouse. I think he/she should have faith in you and trust what you say.
