Cannavaro had two good games this year: the semifinal and the final of the World Cup. Other than that he's your average defenseman. There are few better defencemen out there like Gallas, Viera, Rio Ferdinand,and so on. And yes i think Henry is the best player out there for the last 3 years.

the award is fir thiery henry this year unless uefa want to rob him coz he was clelarly the best player throughout the season, the uefa champions final, world cup final, top goal scorer in england and the best palyer in the english premiership, what more do you like, and cannavaro, whats special about him, he only help disgaced juve to the stripped title (who knows if they wn by cheating ) and the world cup win was more of andrea pirlo's effort than any other italian in my books.

For now Cannavarodon't deserve to get the player of the year award because he is not that good enough. I think Ronaldinho should receive this award because he is a skill full and also tricky player. Not only that, his free kick is also very beautifull.

I think both players should be awarded with the same award at the same time. Why??????? Because they are both great captains for their team and they are also world class players.
