Ok, well, I had schedualed a dr appointment last week (because where I have PCOS my dr. wanted to put me on some medicine to make me ovulate if i didn't have my period...) to make a long story short, well, she said if i haden't started by the 10th to make an appointment, (so I did) Well I started my period on the 15th, but I still have a lot af questions to ask her because she wanted me to start taking birth control for my hormones... and I don't want to becuase my husband and I want to have another baby asap... would you go an and go to the doctors appointment and ask the questions about clomid and other things she suggested or just do what she suggested first and take the birth control and ask questions later?

If this doesn't make any since please say so and i will add details if you have any other questions...

i have pcos and i take metformin/glucaphage regularly as prescribed by my endocronologist. they tried to put me on birth control but that didn't make sense to me. why put me on birth control to give me my hormones and regulate my period, when as soon as i stopped taking them my period stops coming. when i had my son i took clomid.

its going to be a long road ahead. to begin even taking clomid, they need to make your periods somewhat regular. it took me months of testing before i was prescribed the clomid. well i took the clomid combined with the metformin and 4 months after starting the therapy i was pregnant.

you have to take the birth control to regulate the hormones, if you don't get them regular you will not ovulate and you will never get pregnant. The doctor knows what to do, you are just one of many women going through the same thing. Go to the appt and ask the questions you have, but take the BC too. And find a PCOS support group, there are lots on Yahoo groups

Keep your appointment. Write down all of your questions so that you can use the time to get the answers you need. Good luck!

Please GO and ask your questions. It's your body, your health and she needs to incorporate your desire for another child in her recommendations.
