A 75 year old having sex with a 5 year old recieves the same punishment as a 21 year old having sex with a 15 year old. An older woman having sex with a younger boy recieves the same punishment as an older man. Am I the only one who thinks these laws are ridiculous and need to be changed?

women should not be subjected to the same rape laws because it is impossible for a woman to rape a man, in order for a woman to have sex with a man the man must have an erection. So they can only be seduced. Men are also stronger than women, and could defend themselves if assaulted. And a girl or boy being raped by a man is much more emotionally scaring than by a woman.

What do you think would be worse to deal with your whole life, a 75 year old man raping you or 21 year old man raping you.

Statutory laws must be adjusted to have the proper penalties between ages both for men and women. Older people victimizing younger people should be more castigated than those whose victims are already on the age of majority.

Women can rape males. You are only thinking of normal sexual situations. Think about how men rape othe males; don't you think a woman could do similar things with the right sexual devices? What if a woman forces a man to satisfy her orally? That would constitute rape if he did not want to do it. I have heard of a case where a woman was charged with rape for performing oral sex on an infant. Clearly this was a rape in every sense of the word.

As for people being charged with the same crime getting similar sentences, what is wrong with that? A 75-year-old bank robber would get the same sentence as a 21-year-old bank robber. The age of the person is not in question when it comes to rape. If they are not legally able to consent, it is rape.

If you think that the age of consent in your state should be lowered, try and convince the legislature. Of course, you will have to have a good reason why it should be changed and a damn good reason why the 75-year-old can't start dating that same 15-year-old.

NO. It is NOT the same punishment hun.

If someone rapes a five year old, it is child molestation, rape, and a whole host of other charges added on, like kidnapping, child endangerment, etc. etc. You can pretty much bet if a man raped a five year old or any kid against their will, he'd be sentenced to at least a 20 year term.--
And if I had it my way, a man who did something like that to a small child would be tied to the whipping post, given at least a hundred lashes and then the f*cker would be strung up, but I digress...

Statuatory is something different.
I think what you are meaning to point out is how they are all lumped in the catagory of sex offender and I agree with you there.
(and a woman can not rape a man)

Yes, but older women don't receive the same punishment, as we've noted school teachers with students being laughed off because of their looks. The system is basically unfair to men, and there's no reason why such a law should exist with an 18 year old regarding someone one or two years younger.

That being said, I'm not in favor of sex before marriage, but the law is not right.

The court Judge is supposed to take these differences into account when recommending the type and length of the sentence.

What REALLY stinks is the designation of a sex offender, where the whole neighborhood gets to know about your conviction. Does this apply to a 21 your old who makes it with a kid in high school? I think not. Multiple pedophile, yes.
