Throwing a shoe will fix the problem. If you scream loud enough the car will never talk back to you again. Try it!

As tempting as that may be, it won't stop the alarm, and if you damage the car you can be held responsible for repair costs (you'd be amazed what some paint jobs cost these days). If it is in a residential area and the alarm keeps going off for no obvious reason, give the owner a chance to correct the problem and then call the police. They are usually willing to give the owner a ticket for disturbing the peace, or something similar, if they are unwilling to stop it. This summer my neighbor's alarm malfunctioned, and after he realized it was his he had to unhook the battery to make it stop. It was a generic-sounding alarm, so he didn't realize it was his right away, but once he did he immediately tried to silence it. Anyway, good luck!

Call the police. Most areas have laws against this.
