I have windows media player installed on my laptop and I have even tried downloading it again through Firefox, but whenever I want to watch a video, it asks me to download a media player again. I have to switch over to Internet Explorer to watch a video each time. Is there a way I can watch videos on Firefox without having to switch over?

Hi there,

You actually can. Try the following plugins:

1. Foxy Tunes - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/219/ - this one will help
you to use WMP when you hear music and stuff.
2. IE Tab - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/ - this one will make
your Firefox browser behave as if it were IE and maybe you could get
the results you want.

Keep in mind that also it may be a situation on the website's end. If it had worked for you before on other websites that means more than likely that the specific website you're visiting may have something going on.

Hope this helps you out.

Sounds like you do not have Windows Media Player associated with the type of media file you are trying to play. For this example, lets say that the extension is "mpg"...

In "My Computer", find any mpg file on your computer. Right click on the file and select "Open With...". You will have a list of programs with which you could open mpg files. Select Media Player. Check the box at the bottom of the list that says "Allows use this program to run this type of file". Click OK

Now when you try to access an mpg file through Firefox, it will use Media Player. Repeat with any other extension you want to change.

I think IE is a product of microsoft...Even some web sites don't work the same when you use Firefox.
