They are still there. They just replaced the word "favorites" with a gold star on the extreme left of the menu bar.

I updated as well but my favorites are OK ~ still in proper place and order. You might have changed some where else.
It can be reset as:
Tools ==> Toolbars ==> Favorites

They are still there. You must reconfigure your toolbar to show the Icons and status bar.
