You can either try a stronger router (like the wireless-N), a wifi range expander like the Linksys WRE54G, or just use a pair of powerline ethernet adapters to connect the two rooms, and bypass the wireless problems.

Powerline adapters use the building's AC outlets to connect. You plug one directly into the wall in each room, and connect via CAT5 cables to the adapters- very reliable, no interference from cordless phones, microwave ovens, other wifi routers etc.

I'm using the Linksys Wireless N router and it's very good. It's located in the first floor office. I can check my email from my 3rd floor bedroom at a high speed.

Highly Recommended.

Make/Buy a wifi extender for your wireless card or get a new router.
