Ok, this is probably not what you want to hear, but this is what my bf and i did when he went away for six months (i was in fl and he was in nj). we weren't together all that long so that might have contributed to this decision but we basically said to each other let's "break up" and when you come back, see how things are and if we still have strong feelings for each other. it just took the stress out of trying to maintain the relationship or deal with reprecussions if something happened b/t one of us and another girl/guy. even though we talked almost all the time, we had a mutual understanding we were going to wait until he came back to see how things were going to be. he came back and it was wonderful. we are together and anything that happened over those six months wasn't an issue.

My husband and I did not live in the same city for almost 2 years while we were dating. We were both faithful to each other during that time. We have been together for almost 25 years.

If you are that far away & he is seeing her the relationship is probably
all but gone .
