How do I make a real move?

Question

There's this girl, obviously, and I can't stop being nervous around her! The semester's almost over, and we're probably not going to have another class together so I feel like it's my last chance. This is pretty recent though, so the only clues I've gotten that she's interested is the eye contact, and sitting near me, etc. I tried asking her a question about class...but it was one of those lame yes/no questions...I could have taken it further but I chickened out. I always plan to make a move but just end up shying away. I hate that...how do I get the guts to start a real conversation with her, with this short amount of time left? And should it be subtle or overt? I don't think I have anything to lose so should I just give my number/email or something? I always waste time, until it runs out :/

Your answers are great so far. But I was wanting more advice on how I should get into a real conversation...or should I just skip that and just give her my number? Keep in mind that we haven't actually met. So I'm thinking it'd be too forward to just give my number. On the other hand, there's not much time left to even have a conversation. Quick solution so I won't regret not doing anything?

Hi. Listen, I think you already know that you ought to take a chance and give her your email and number. Tell her it has been great to be in the same class and that you would be happy to keep in touch. If she says sure then just ask if she would like to go get a Coke or something and talk a little. I would do it because the worst thing that can happen is for her to go away and you never know what might have happened....that is 100 times worse than just being told no. At least then you have your answer. Good luck. :)

I would say this: Hi (her name) I wanted to give you my number ...we have a class left and you seem like a person I would like to keep in touch with.. maybe even hanging out sometime.... I get so busy during the semester and dont leave a lot of time for fun..But we'll have the next few weeks off and it would be cool to hangout get a coffee or something.... : )

Start by just asking for her name. If she's surprised by your question, just point out to her that you wanna know her name since the term's about to end. After that, you can ask for her number or email address, and give yours, too. Just say that you wanna keep in touch or something like that because she intrigues you. Then, leave her hanging to contemplate what you may mean by your last comment. Hopefully, this will keep her interested, and will leave enough clues for her to realize that you're interested in her. Awwww! First of all, thats adorable. Secondly, do you know for a fact that she is gay or bi?? If so, then most def. make a subtle move. Try asking her if she's heard the new Melissa Ferrick CD or what she does on the weekends. Maybe even do a lil' searchy-searchy on Myspace to find out more.

Maybe you can ask her to help you with something and in exchange you could buy her a drink. Maybe you can move from there.

You're never sure if it works though, you have to be really brave to pull it through. I admit I'm also a big chicken in these things :(

try to smile and be nice, ask her whts she gonna do after the semester is over, ask her phone number, ask what other classes she takes, something casual so dont ever try to ask yes and no answer, and after she answer that elaborate the questions ok ;) goodluck!
