I think the best place for you to try would be the salvation army. They have something called their Christmas hamper which provides you and your family with a turkey and some other food for Christmas. They also will provide your kids with some new toys for them to open up on Christmas morning. You only have until the 1st of December to sign up for this. I know exactly what your going through. I hope everything works out.

Christmas of course at its heart is NOT about gifts. It is about Jesus and about family. You can have Christmas with very little and still have a great time. The commercialism has led people to believe that certain things are necessary but the basic things are more valuable and if you can capture that you will have a wonderful time no matter what. In this case there should never be a time when you cant have Christmas.

Of course if you want to have some gifts you can try the Salvos. They often help. Also there are some community organizations and churches that put on a Christmas meal that could be fun. When I was a kid we looked in our own cupboard and found something that we could clean up and wrap for our siblings.

Another idea is that you go and help people who have it worse off than you. This will help to teach your children the real value of Christmas.

You may even put an ad in the newspaper asking for a family who wanted to share there Christmas with you.

I wish you all the blessings of the Christmas season

You can sign up for community help at the Department of Human Resources, and you can also get help through Salvation Army or similiar community donation services. That is what the donations are for. Children and families who need help providing for their families. All children deserve a Christmas.
