I just had a new roof installed. I live in new York City. How long does it take to dry?

If your talking about the black tar they use, it doesn't really dry and when it warms up it becomes soft. There's reason for this. It expands and contracts with the heat so it doesn't leak. It does get a skin on it and when it's cold you can probably step on it but, don't do this on a hot summer day if you value your clothes. And, nothing short of gasoline will take it off so, don't get it in your clothes, or hands.

You can clean it from your skin very easily with mineral spirits or turpentine. I've been doing it for years
