Not a chance. They wouldn't give up that easily, and they are in this very seriously. You can expect them to reinvent themselves and be back with a vengeance.

No.

Across the nation, voters consistently voted conservatively on the issues. In Michigan, voters approved a ban on race-based affirmative action. In California, voters shot down tax increases on cigarettes and gasoline. And voters approved bans on same-sex marriage in numerous states.

Also, the party that occupies the White House almost always loses seats during midterm elections. Yet, the Democrats gained fewer seats in both the Senate and House than one would expect, based on past midterm elections.

The Republicans--both President Bush and those in Congress--blew it by not acting as true conservatives over the past six years. So conservative voters didn't bother to support them.

Let's wait and see on this one.

Some of those house seat Democrat wins were by very moderate Democrats, some of whom were recruited by the Republicans before they affiliated with a party.

When you have Democrats with the Ten Commandments stenciled on the back of their business cards, you know Nancy Pelosi is going to be very busy steering that bunch.

I'll make a prediction: "I'm sorry Nancy, I just don't see it that way." will be a repeated phrase among Democrats next year.

I'm not slamming Democrats, just saying this is a very diverse group.

The next question is how soon do you wish the US to go bankrupt? Granted compared to JFK & MLK both parties are more liberal. Both of those 2 individuals spoke of personal responcibility not a world of entitlements.

Well don't worry when the energy crisis collides with the baby-boomers' retirement bill, you will get your wish.

It may have ended the evangelical social conservative movement with, hopefully, a return to strict fiscal conservatism

Maybe, you can now look forward to becoming another 3rd world socialist country like France. As for me, I'm going to quit working, and become a drag on society.

Then we'll see how their going to tax blood out of this turnip.

It's too soon to tell, really. The Dems have won Congress, but they'll only have the House for 2 years. 2008, that's when the question will be answered.
