Psychology, what do you think of it as a major?

is it a good field to go into? why or why not?

Great, if you wanna work at a low-paying job all your life.

You cannot do much, directly with the major. I mean without a PhD.
Otherwise it's a very interesting field, and if you have the right mind, with a Bachelors in Psych you can make a lot of money in marketing/statistics, and such.

I think it is a very commendable major to study. It requires a lot of care and attention. The only problem with this is that pyscology majors, most but not all, have a difficult time finding a job once they have received a college degree.

I earned my B.A. in psyc in 1999. I now work at a job that I could have gotten right out of high school. I went to a very good private school, and got A's in my classes.

Don't major in psyc unless you have a specific career in mind and intend to go on to grad school.

It stinks big time. It's an inaccurate science that doesn't take into account spiritual aspects and personal failings as they pertain to the human condition. You're not going to help anyone.

You should pursue a more honest profession, in my opinion. The main skill of psychologists is deceiving people into thinking that they know something and are qualified to help, again in my opinion.

Not enough money to make the cost of the degree worth it.
