Some people still keep them -- you hear of old Atari or Sega consoles getting sold on ebay every now and then. Most of the time, I'd assume people would trade in for cash.

well i hear theyget melted down, turned into metal shavings, planeted for a 100 years, and whats left blows into the atmosphere and kills off a fleet of interstler invaders...
but thats just what i hear.
They might just sell em to a store for credit. lol

personally mine are used until they die by my family. then they become electronic waste and are properly recycled.
