Things do happen for a reason. Although we all want our lives to go happily with no problems, it is during our low periods that we learn and grow stronger. Without rough times in our lives, we wouldn't learn the important lessons God wants us to. So to answer your question, things happen so we can learn and grow from them. Sometimes it takes some time before you understand why something happened.

Everything happens for a reason, yes, because our universe is subject to physical laws, so when somebody causes something, there is always an effect! Note I didn't say everything happens for a GOOD reason...........

In a spiritual sense, I believe everything happens for the "best", that is it ultimately makes us a better society. Now I like everyone have trouble applying that to things like Murder, 9/11, child abuse....but I think there ARE reasons these things happen and it ultimately makes us better (don't hit the thumbs down yet, I'm NOT saying these things are RIGHT, just that there are REASONS we need to go through them to learn our lessons. OK, NOW hit the thumbs down!)

That phrase isn't a law of nature, it is just a saying that humans have coined in order to make sense of what happens in life. It has what I call a Teddy Bear affect. Good or bad, it just feels good to hold the teddy bear.

In the real world, for every action there is a reaction. There are consquences that are predictable and some that are random.

There are phrases of comfort that humans use when we don't know what else to say. For instance if a person dies, we might say to the family. "He is in a better place" "It was his time to go"
or "it happened for a reason." All are trite expressions that we use when we don't know what to say.

We can say that everything happens for a reason, or we could say, there is a reason for everything that happens.

Either way, we can take comfort in finding the reason in things.
There is a comfort we get emotionally when we can explain the things that happen in life.

I believe in gratuitous evil. That is, evil that happens for no reason at all. Some acts of evil or instances of evil have no overriding purpose or raison d'etre: they simply transpire. Can you tell me the reason why the Holocaust occurred? Or why are some children born blind, deaf or with alcohol fetal syndrome?

We know the biological reasons for some of these events. But what obvious cosmic or teleological purpose do they serve? Granted, God can use evil to bring about good. However, it seems that there are better ways to accomplish certain ends than by causing or allowing people to suffer unspeakable horrors for a greater good.

What is the purpose of a deer perishing in a forest fire that is started by lightning? Furthermore, if everything happens for a reason, there is no place for chance or coincidence in the universe. That seems incredible to me, and unscriptural.

Its a simple but very complicated answer of.... cause and effect. All things are in motion, therefore all things feed off each other.

Something that may of started to happen millions of years ago, may just now happen. Or something that happens right now, might not be noticed for several years.

There is hardly any chance on coincidence, all things happen for a reason. We just like to hope we have more control in our lives, it tires to keep us sane. We do have choices, but frame works are set out many years before we are even born.

In a way. A chain of events converges upon a space-time nexus and another event occurs. How far back that chain goes, nobody knows. But the event happens none the less because of it.

Nothing really happens for a reason. Cause-effect relationships are an illusion created by a large number of chaotic events. Life, the Universe, and everything are ultimately meaningless on their own, but we stupid humans (among other ANIMALS) try to find patterns in the chaos so we can eat, screw, make more humans, entertain ourselves, and die. yay.

Whether in life or in a specific undertaking, there will undoubtedly be times when you achieve genuine progress, only to come up against a wall or feel yourself regressing. There will be times when you just need to stop and rest. Such are the vicissitudes inherent to any struggle. When you challenge to achieve something, be ready to face the unexpected. did u understand this point

the first law of physic states that a body at rest or at a constant state of acceleration will remain so until acted on by another force.
and the second law states that for every action there is an equal ,but opposite reaction.
i personally believe that God is the force and we alway get action or reaction from other people .
God bless,
