I own three how to draw manga volumes. It caters to my specific need. Besides, it's the only series that had BIG success in sales in the US. Or at least, I'd like to think so.
How to Draw Couples
How to Draw Bishoujo
Bishoujo Around the World - a personal favorite, because I can draw different nationalities in manga format, duh!
Like I said, I can't really say which one is the best out of all of the series. I say Coloring/Ink and Toning/Backgrounds may be the most useful, but it all depends on the artist and what his/her specific need is.

I like anime/manga, but I personally would not recommend drawing it exclusively if you really want to be good at it.
First, you need to have a solid foundation to drawing the human figure realistically. You don't have to draw like Leonardo da Vinci, but it is important to understand human proportions and simpliflied anatomy. Once you have have a good grasp on proportions, feel free to stylize it in "manga form". This will help you differentitate the fine line between stylization and incorrect anatomy. Most professional mangaka have a good foundation of anatomy.
Keep in mind that anime/manga is not really a style in itself for there are variations. Dragonball, Cowbow Beebop, Pokemon, Hajime no Ippo, Fooly Cooly all have their own style to it. It's okay to copy a certain artists' style when starting out, but try to experienment with it to make it a style of your own.
Like any drawing. It's important to learn the fundamentals. I hope this will help you out. Learning human proportions takes practice and hard work. It may even be boring but it will pay off big time when you see the improvments. Good luck!

i really love anime. i draw manga a lot too. What I can say is that I learned the basics in drawing anime from the book "How to Draw Manga" by Kathy Coope. But I developed my own style by looking at different mangas and the illustrators drawing style and mashing them all together into one.
Basically all you have to do is learn the basics of drawing (both anime and classical art, they both have the same concepts) and look at and try different drawing styles. Using those styles, you can mold your own manga style.

I usually record the episodes on DVD, watch it over and over again till I can resite it word for word, pause it on the character and agle to want, then draw. If that doesn't work, you can try this:
www.animecubed.com/howtodraw
or if you want to look at a character from a certain anime and draw them without guide's, then I suggest
