Since it is THE king or THE queen (not just a king in general but King Henry or Queen Elizabeth) you should still capitalize King and/or Queen. Think about it -- if you write about President Bush, you would still say the President if you were still referring to him later on without spelling out the entire name. So, unless you are just referring to a king in general, yes - you would still capitalize it as long as you are still referring specifically to King Henry.

"Certain very high ranking government officials' titles are capitalized even when not followed by a name or used in a direct address when a specific individual is being referred to."

You should capitalize king and queen because you're still refering to the person even if you don't write their name. But if you're talking about just any king or queen, you don't capitalize it.

If you just say the king, it shouldn't be capitalized. Only capitalize king when you're stating a specific fact about the king.

Since you are referring to a particular king, and not kings in general, it should be capitalized. And by the way, the word is "grammar."

Only capitalize king when your naming the king. Example:
King George III

But, don't capitalize it when not naming a king. Example:
The king was unfair.

No, because then it is just a general title reference and not a proper noun.
