She says that a lot of people have been wearing single sole, black ballet slippers. I know they're comfortable, but isn't that a lot of money for shoes that will wear out quickly if your wearing them to walk around school and outside? Why would this be in style? Do you think its a good idea?

I don't think it is actual ballet shoes we are talking about. I think we are talking about flats with thin rubber sole (or other durable material designed to wear outside). It is not the real ballet slipper you could wear to a ballet class. They only look somewhat close to ballet slippers, but in reality they are street shoes. You can buy those at any department store. Yeah, they look cute on some people.

If it was real actual ballet slippers - no, I wouldn't recommend them as a regular shoe to wear for everyone. This would be just silly - why don't we all start wearing socker boots, or skiing boots. These shoes are designed to help your body to perform a certain task. They are not designed to give your foot proper support when walking.

theyre probably just ballet flats, which are designed to look like ballet slippers but aren't actually and are built more durably for everyday wear. chanel has been making them since forever but by now everyone is. however, if this school is kind of out in the middle of nowhere, people may have seen the trend and copied it by wearing actual ballet slippers because they couldn't find the flats. they would wear out quickly, but theyre like, 25 dollars a pair, which is not really that much money for a pair of shoes. yeah, i dont know about actual slippers, but the ballet flat look is very much in style.

I love my ballet slippers. You can actually buy them in many variations, some with a good sole that will last for quite a while, especially if the uppers are made of a good leather. They are soft, feminine shoes that are very versitile. I wear mine with poth pants and skirts.

the ballet slippers, aka flats, are designed to have long-lasting soles (to fit trends) and can be bought in almost any fashion store(including discount ones).
well, i personally think they are comfy and convenient (not to mention how cute they are), since you can dress them up or down and fit almost any occasion. it's a good idea if you like it, but if you don't, it's just a trend and you don't have to follow it.
