I would be interested to hear your comments about the recent controversy surrounding OJ Simpson's book and the interview on the fox network that was cancelled.

Here is a sub-question (and I'm white) Do you think that the same thing would happen if the races were reversed?

I think it is an interesting question to ask and one asked in all seriousness.

Thanks for your answers.

Hi, I don't think race has anything to do with this. The American public would have been just as outraged if a white man had murdered Nicole and Ron and then had the audacity to write a book about how it was done IF. Why must we have to endure anymore of OJ's narcissistic behavior? Has anyone put any thought into what this must be doing emotionally to Nicole and Ron's families, not to mention what it is doing to his children. I feel like OJ, besides killing Ron and Nicole, has raped the justice system and now he is raping the public. Shame on Fox TV for airing such a show. Shame on book publishers for publishing such trash, and shame on the American public for watching this show or buying this book. I can't believe how low some people will stoop for a dollar. Let's put OJ where he belongs, into obscurity, which for a narcissist is worse than prison, and ban the book and TV show. Kim Goldman(Ron's sister) has a website you can go to and sign a petition that will be given to officials at Fox and Harper-Collins Publishers to urge them to not air the show or sell the book. The website is: http://dontpayoj.com Even though Fox has cancelled the show, I am not so sure about the book. So I am going to continue to protest until I hear that it has been pulled from everyone's inventory.

Unfortunate crime but as a person found innocent by a jury he's not barred from writing this theoretical book (which does not contain a confession). If the races were reversed then unlikely there would not be this much outrage. Money was probably the motivation in writing the book as there is a civil suit debt and a need to provide an inheritance for his children etc. Attorney's Cochran, Marcia and Darden wrote their own books and received millions.
A few things that the jury may have considered:
-The investigator who found the glove later committed PERJURY regarding his racist comments.
- Another investigator took a vial sample of OJ's blood from the lab and carried it INTO the crime scene.
- The glove DID NOT fit OJ's hand.
- There never was the amount of blood on OJ's body, clothes, house or car CONSISTENT with someone who had committed that crime in person..
- The murder weapon was NEVER connected to him or found.
- The jury was taken to visit OJ's house and DID NOT see a large blood trail.
- There were no witnesses to the actual crime.
- Likely the jury found him innocent because there was a LACK of real evidence to convict.
Some may disagree with the verdict but it's unfair for them to blatantly say with a certainty that this man is guilty. If he is innocent then there's nothing wrong with him trying to maintain positive self-esteem.

Fox network cancelled the show, and the book will not be published, and I for one am glad.
I think it's disrespectful and disgusting, I can't believe his arrogance.

Also, I don't see where race has any bearing in this whatsoever. I don't see it being any different if it were reversed.

I don't think race is the problem here. The problem lies in someones celebrity status to suck the public into curiosity. How anyone could even think of murdering his wife & writing a book on how he would do it is attrocious & to accept monies to give to his children? Where do we draw the line or have we crossed over so far that we will do anything for the almighty dollar.

I find it disgusting that anyone would pay OJ to profit from a vicious murder. Are you kidding me...he wants to talk about how he would have killed them, if he did....sick and evil. Yes I think the outrage would be the same if he was white. Think about past serial killers...they aren't allowed to profit from their crimes...even if others can. This is not a race issue, it's a moral issue.

I was please to hear HarperCollins pull the book and Fox Broadcasting not to show the special. Why? all OJ has done has generated a lot of hurt.
