Okay, I know that homophobics are just ignorant and could never understand what it feels like to be gay, and I should just ignore them, but it just makes me so mad, that I can't. I'm really tired of people quoting the bible and giving their classic "It is an abomination of God." First of all, I want to tell you that I believe in God. My problem with the bible reasoning is that The Bible wasn't written by God, period. It was written by man. This basically means that man decided upon all of the religious laws that we so closely follow. Why? Why should we listen to what another "person" tells us is true? Another problem I have is the theory that no one can be born gay. That statement is just as ridiculus as if you were to say no one can be born straight. Would a straight person wake up one day and say "I think I'm going to be gay?" A straight person knows that they can never have sexual feelings for the same sex. Well, a gay person can never have feelings for the opposite sex.

I realize that these ideas are brought up over and over. I guess I'm just trying to vent my frustration and hoping that maybe homophobics will eventually wake up and look at the big picture.

If we, as gay people, want our side heard, then people who don't agree with us get to spill their sides as well. I hate hearing the same things thrown out against homosexuality, but I'd much rather live in a world where people stand up for what they BELIEVE to be true rather than sit back and be silent. I don't tolerate violence or hate speech, but pretty much anything else is fair game. If someone wants to quote the bible to me to tell me how I live my life is wrong, then I give them respect for standing up and not being afraid to voice how they feel (or how they're told to feel). It doesn't make any side right or wrong, but it can lead to progress.

They are just narrow-minded and insecure. I'm not gay, but I don't go around bad mouthing Ellen Degeneres or Rosie O'Donell for being gay. I like watch the Ellen show, why should I care that she is a gay? But, I know someone who refuses to watch Ellen, just because she is gay. It's just as bad as being racist. I think people should just judge people on their character, not their orientation. Many of the gay people that I know are some of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever seen. People just need to get over it and worry about themselves.

Vent your frustration and spleen if you feel better after. The real bigots feed on it though. The honest, sincere religious may accept you as a person but never for what you are..
I'm afraid they must live in their own walled ghetto of heaven.

It's just ignorance. You have to remember most of these people don't believe in evolution either. Don't focus on those sorts of people, focus on people who are supportive.
