I sure hope not.. but if it does, then they'd have to start calling women up too... and if that happens.. then maybe I would leave town for a minute.

The question "Do you think the draft will be reinstated?" Has no agree or disagree answer. It is a Yes or No answer.
Your question of "I hope not?" wasn't raelly a question was it?
I sure hope that the draft doesn't get reinstated because that will make you have to do something that you don't want to do. And God forbid that you should do anything that you don't want to do in your life.

What bugs me is how people have been saying that if it were reinstated, they would draft women. I thought they couldn't do that since the Equal Rights Amendment didn't pass back in the 70's. Among other things, it would have made women eligible for the draft. Was it reintroduced and passed later?

At the rate our country interferes with other countries I'm sure their will big large wars in the future which will have the need for many more soldiers then want to in list. Then the draft has to be reinstated. China is now going to be a large power that we will not be able to control in the not to far future.

Probably not. However, I would certainly be happy to see the adoption of Universal Military Training for all American young men and women. Something like a 1 year commitment, with a minimal, but adequate, monthly payment for the trainee (maybe a small raise after completing basic training); then, upon completion of the 1 year obligation, a full 2 year scholarship to a vocational school, community college, or 4 year college of the trainee's choice.

Its always a possibility, especially at war time...Having lived thru a time when it was used,I have to say I see nothing wrong in using it..although I don't think now is the time to use it,with such an unstable Government..
