You can stop also your vacuuming smelling by sprinkling baking soda over your carpet and vacuuming it up it will remove odors from your carpet and your bag.
Also.. for a fresh smelling vacuum, put n two tablespoons of powder laundry detergent(scented) directly in the vacuum bag and it will last for 10 or so vacuums
