How about something like a small bird - parakeets or cockatiels are nice; they're very intelligent, too. Or, you could upgrade to a parrot - but you must also understand that they can live up to 100 years old, so the parrot you get, you have to love for life. There are also hairless animals - the Sphinx is a hairless cat; I wish you luck with your pet search!

If he's allergic to fur, then how come he can be around humans? I suspect he is allergic to pet dander which can be kept very minimal by washing your pet frequently. Also, some type of dogs are far less likely to produce dander. I've been told poodles can be great and there are many others. I think you need to find out the exact cause and severity of the allergy first.

Have you tried birds? Get a parakeet since they are inexpensive and try one and see how he reacts.
Also a great pet to get would be a Hedgehog!
The previous poster was trying to say Bischon Frische; but there are NO hypoallerginic dogs! I worked as a vet assistant and am not working as a groomer and ALL dogs have pet dander; just some way less than others. The LEAST amount of pet dander you can get from a dog are from the Hairless Chinese Crested dogs; just have their topnot of hair shaved off with a 40 blade and you have a hairless dog; their is also several hairless spyhnx breeds of cats; while ugly they are hairless.

Poodles and Yorkies have hair fairly of fur that can help you tone down your hypersensitive reactions. also they're small it really is an advantage to holding the dander minimum. besides the undeniable fact that, like yet another poster reported, in case you purchased a pup and your hypersensitive reactions grew to grow to be too a lot to regulate, do you've a backup plan? a respected breeder allow you to visit the domestic dogs formerly they're waiting to flow residing house with you. it is a very good first step in seeing how undesirable your hypersensitive reactions get once you're round that breed. a very good breeder will also take decrease back any pup it really is not determining contained in the residing house it replaced into followed to, so this will also be an option do you should locate the pup isn't determining. That reported, in case you pick a canines breed intently, you may maximum likely have a canines. My husband has quite severe hypersensitive reactions and bronchial asthma, yet we did some study and were given a Toy Fox Terrier (which i do not reccomend commonly as they're an rather dominant and headstrong breed. we adore her to bits yet she replaced into an rather complicated pup.). We chosen her because she is a unmarried-lined breed, so even as she does have fur, not hair, she has no undercoat and sheds little or no. She's also small and complication-free to bathe so I wash her once a week to assist decrease dander. I also offered a Dyson Animal vaccum and that i vaccum the carpets a million-2 cases a week to assist save the dander at bay. We had an ionic air cleanser thingy besides the undeniable fact that it broke. have not replaced it and we are doing high-quality. you may also attempt to OTC or prescription hypersensitive reaction medicine. The undesirable consequences are something to think about, yet again, how far you're prepared to flow to have a canines is rather your call. My husband does in some circumstances destroy out in hives (in many cases even as they hard-play and he or she scratches him), yet we both agree she is punctiliously well worth it. that is necessary to settle on what compromises and way of existence alterations you're prepared to make to have a canines. in case you imagine you may artwork with a number of the above thoughts, by all potential, come across a breed and get a clean loving kinfolk member. purely have a very good Plan B (new loving residing house or breeder take-decrease back) in case you won't be able to save the canines.

Generally, pet allergies, especially with cats, are triggered by the dander in the fur which is primarily dried saliva. It's possible to alter the composition of a cat's saliva to minimize allergic reactions. Ask a vet about ace promazine. It's normally used as a horse tranquillizer, but in very dilute forms (one or two drops in a bowl of water), can make a cat non-allergenic.

You could get a naked mole rat. They are cute and intelligent creatures, but they need companionship. Not the exotic pet type? How about a hypoallergenic cat? Yes, they do breed them, but they are really expensive and can have health problems. There are some types of dogs that have short, thick hairs that don't cause reactions in some people, but not in all. If all else fails, then try a frog. You can grow them form tadpoles, and they don't require much attention. But they are intelligent. And if you can't get a frog, then at least give fish a try. Maybe a catfish or a beta. Just ask at your local pet store. ^-^

You can 'try' or research some of the following breeds: Chinese Crested, Bichon Frise, and Wheaton Terriers if you want a dog.
For cats, not sure.
Others have suggested birds, but your husband may be allergic to a bird as well - because of their feathers/dust.
Good Luck!

Either get a bird or a small mammel like a hamster or mice. Or you can buy your husband some allergy medicine or get a allergy shot. Also you can buy one of those new cats and dogs that are hypoallergenic. Hope this helps!
