I'm trying to give more thumbs ups to people because there are too many thumbs downs it seems....

Yes I do. I've been doing it for quite some time. Often I will give thumb's up to other answerers when I've responded to a question too. But I like the notion of going to discover & reading the resolved questions, maybe letting some people...even weeks or months later know that their answer was really good. They only get one point for it, but those single points add up & sometimes it only takes one to make someone's day.

there's a girl from university who is all the time giving thumbs up, at first it was cool, and I did the same thing, now it's just annoying
