Doing a research project from an objective point of view to determine if there is any factual evidence to back up this claim, or if it is simply a stereotypical opinion. I am looking for any references to objective analysis, not racist or stereotypical claims. Thanks.

I've personally lived in several countries in Europe as well as in Los Angeles and Vancouver, having huge minority populations. I have my own set of driving "nightmare" experiences, however I find it very difficult to find objective information on the topic, as insurance companies refuse to assess the question with fears of being labeled of racial profiling. From my research when I addressed several people from Asia about their driving habits they express that the driving habits in Asia are erratic and chaotic, with barely any consideration to others and non-existent traffic laws (just do a video search china traffic). I wonder if anyone has analyzed the issue to see if it is simply a stereotypical view or a fact, or if institutions are just affraid of being labeled as racist.

Spend a week driving around and carefully observe all drivers. Then do a chart rating all nationalities. You will find that the majority of Asians are out somewhere in space when it comes to driving. Don't let anyone feed you the usual BS about how different their culture is and so on........no excuses, you either belong behind the wheel or not !!!!

Its plain and simple the majority of them should take the bus and my factual view will be proven after you have done your week of observing.

My husband is Chinese and he didn't learn to drive until he was in graduate school in the U.S. However, he is improving. I tell him now that he's driving more like an American! I think part of the fact that Asians are bad drivers comes from not driving when they're real young, Us kids who grew up in America have been driving since we were 15 or 16. Also, people like my husband did not grow up riding in cars, so it wasn't as if he spent years watching his parents drive, like American kids do.

My brother-in-law took about 5 or 6 tries (honestly) till he passed his driver's test in Toronto!!! But I rode in his car when we were all in Toronto last summer and he did ok.

Like I said, I think it stems more from not growing up riding in cars.

No. Not all Asians is bad drivers. Every driver is a bad driver in their own way. You should try driving around Boston. Everybody here yells at everyone about being a bad driver.
