I like to stay at the crowne plaza...at least a night. It's a luxury. And expensive, but hey, holiday inn is nice, too. Otherwise, try a nice bed and breakfast. There are some nice ones in King Williams and it's nice if you are downtown. The traffic is not that bad except rush hour! 7-9 am and 5-7 pm. The trolley's by VIA bus are fun downtown. The river is beautiful this time of year with all the lights. Have fun! And, don't forget to visit the marketplace! Maybe you can meet a local who will take you out and about for a fun evening. If you come on Dec. 1, first Fridays is lots of fun! And, the wine is usually free!

I used to work in the Westin downtown and know for a fact that you can get a pretty good rate this time of year. The hotels are desperate to fill rooms because this is the slow time of year for San Antonio. Call around downtown and see which one offers you a better bargain. Don't forget to let them know if another hotel offered you a better rate. That might bring the price down a little bit more. Hope this helps you. PS Traffic is not to bad, only during certain times

The St Anthony hotel downtown has a holiday rate of $79.00 per night. This is a fabulous rate for downtown San Antonio. Its close to the river walk and is a very nice historic hotel. They have a fabulous Sunday brunch buffet!

Why could stay in San Antonio if the vehicle instruct youre supposedly going to is in Austin? And no your mum and dad cant call...they must have an identity,of the guy renting the room, and that individual must be there!

I haven't been to San Antonio in years. But the best place to stay is anywhere on the RiverWalk. It is awesome!! But it is not cheap. Sorry. :(
