nancy pelosi and hillary clinton are not fooling me

Indeed they do. They hail under the label of neoconservatives (neocons). These are the intellectuals from the 1960s and 1970s, and those elites influenced by their world-views, who describe themselves as "former liberals who were mugged by reality". The Bush Family is a prime example. They present themselves as adhering to conservatism according to its modern definition; however, an undercurrent of central authority and collectivism forms the basis of their proposals. For example: The debate over education has been and will always be about improving schoolastic performance. To a conservative of the Barry Goldwater variety (or Thomas Jefferson for that matter), the approach to solving this problem would be to eleviate undue influence of the Federal Government and allow the States and Local Governments to make strategic and tactical decisions with their own dollars that address the varying needs of their student populations. Bear in mind, there is no renumeration in the U.S. Constitution regarding the Federal Government's role in education. To a neocon, the approach to solving this problem is to vest authority in a central organization that mandates standardized application of tactical measures, the acheivement or failure of which is rewarded or punished through providing or denying Federal funding.

The last approach is a benign form of collectivism that forms the evidence demonstrative of a distrust in individualism. Although administrative expediency often suggests centralization, it fails to recognize the inherent conflicts that arise when competing interests are adjudicated by a signle sovereign authority.

Read Frederick Hayek's Road to Serfdom to gain an incredible insight into the political ideas that have formed the world in which we live. Written in the 1940's, he devotes an entire chapter to how language is usurped by those with less than noble intentions.

They're the open-minded ones, remember? All the "hippie, homosexual" caricatures you base all Liberals on, they'd be dead if they were in a party with the "over-religious, trigger happy" type caricatures of the Conservative party.
