Why is it that it's acceptable for anyone and everyone to use racial epithets against whites, be it jokingly, casually, or offensively, but if it's the other way around, it's a top news story?

The whole "because whites were so bad in the past" is a ridiculous excuse, and not an answer.

oh, I'm not saying what he did was right, by the way. But this happens in reverse regularly and is never mentioned.

So, because someone may possibly call you a "cracker" or a "honky", its supposed to mean the same thing????? There is hundreds of years of bad blood because of that word. It still carries a lot of weight today. I don't say it, and I don't condone any one else saying it. Black, white or otherwise. Regardless to what population says, and how many other ethnicities are in America today, the fact of the matter is that white is still the preferred race. And thats not just in this country. So yes... because the media cares more about ratings, they are more likely to use it as a top news story. As much as we'd like for racism to go away and all these black vs. white debates to come to a rest, its still a very emotional topic.

It's never okay for that type of behavior from ANYONE! I am black and I have a problem with my people calling each other racist names as well as other ethnic groups doing the same. However, I have heard whites calling each other the N-word, so what's that all about? It's wrong anyway you look at it. It's ugly and we as Americans should be more focused on more important things like the war in Iraq and the fact that our AMERICAN soldiers are shedding RED BLOOD for us. If we really are the greatest nation in the world we need to stop being so divided by ignorance.

He did use it directly to the two people in the audience, the way it was mentioned was a little too much. Comedians are suppose to be professional. what he said was uncalled for. It wasnt like those people were saying racial things to him. it was just a "Booooooooo" !

As much as i hate racism, i think every statement should be judged based on its CONTEXT.

He's a comedian, and it was meant as a joke. So, take it as a joke.

To contrast, a member of parliament giving a racist comment may not just be presenting his personal opinion but the entire party he represents.

In Kramer's case, he's not the first to make racist jokes. And I don't think he's a racist in reality. So, let not blow the issue out of proportion.

I'm not really answering the question, am i?

Kramers racist comments were against black people in his audience. There is no excuse for it, anymore than it would be excused for a black comedian to do that to white people in his audience.

This is 2006...... let's stop living in the past.

He was obviously taunted by a heckler but he is supposed to be a professional comedian and SHOULD be able to deal with that type of problem in a professional comedic manner, not in a tirade as he did.

It's not acceptable for anyone to slur another's race, creed or color.
