I have an uninsulated garage door and was wondering if there is anyway to insulate it. As in taping insulation to it? It isn't one that can come apart. If I can't insulate it, any other ideas would be great!

You might explore the use of styrofoam sheets (1/4 inch thick)

If f you can afford a 3 car garage, you can afford to insulate the other 2 walls and get premium doors. Since you are up north, not having the insulation and the door will be just like keeping your cars outside. With the insulation and door you could probably just keep a space heater going in your garage overnight and not have to plug in the electric dipstick. Also think about the aesthetics, those cheap garage doors will be noisy and if you bump into it, they will have a dent on both sides. The insulated doors, with a good opener and insulated walls are the way to go for you northerners. Especially if you wind up having to do any work out there or you use it to hang out in (darts, and beer keg). Tell your wife that you can upgrade the light fixtures and cabinet hardware at a later time, but you NEED to get the garage in order first.

You can do it.. It is much easier to buy (to have bought) a garage door that was already insulated but you can do it but it will not look as nice.... but.. at Home Depot/Lowe/s/Ace Hardware, they do have an insulating that is a type of plastic insulation like the type that some people put around crawl spaces.... I believe it is called polystyrene. I have heard of people also using that to insulate the pull down stairs to garage attics, etc.I It is easy to cut and shape and you can glue it in place... This is the ONLY thing that I would recommend... It is even easier than Styrofoam stuff
