I have never been to a funeral. I am going to a puerto rican funeral, and i'd like to know how it is different. Given i am of Jewish faith, is there much religious expectations....Its not in a church. Thanks a bunch!

I am Puerto Rican and it is like any other funeral. We view the body, say some nice things about the person, have alot of flowers and do a procession around the neighborhood where the person was raised or lived then we go to the cementary and give last rites. Then we go to the families home eat and usually get drunk. (I am Puerto Rican) I have been to over 10 funerals and they are almost the same. Not all of us are Catholic, we can be Pentecostal, Evangelists, or just plain Christian. Hopefully that helps. We may be a bit more emotional.

It has nothing to do with the race, but the religion of the person. Most Puerto Rican's are Catholic, so it would be a Catholic barrel.
