i applied to east carolina university and they sent me a letter back saying that i need to retake my SATs and send them my semester grades. i have a 2.9 gpa and my SAT score was a 900 something.

so are they giving me a second chance or do do they do this to everyone? what does it mean???

Most schools require you to submit your 1st semester grades. Requesting you to retake your SATs is not a good thing. If you got a 900 and it was your first time taking the SAT then you should definately retake it. Overall, this response probably means that you are close to what the school is looking for, but they want to wait and see how their applicant pool turns out.

Why don't you call the admissions office at ECU and ask them what they mean? That would get you a better answer than hanging around on Yahoo!

I don't think its a good sign that they want you to take the SATs again. If you mean you got 900 on the three-part new SAT, that is not a good score, dude! Average is 1500. You friends who are trying to get into Duke or UNCCH would need way higher. Even if the 900 is just for two parts of the SAT that is still below average. I think you need to study up, focus yourself way more on your school work for a few months and then give it another shot.

i think they think u cheated. 2.9 gpa can't get 900 on SAT (they think) so they want u to retake it.
