There are a few Republicans out there that I would have voted for an opposing candidate even if that candidate was a crack whore. Congressthug John Sweeney for one.

This election for myself it was more against Republicans than for the Democrats. This was the first time I voted straight ticket Democrat. In the past, I have voted for some Republicans and some Democrats, and some Independents, whoever I thought were the most in line with my personal views. The message needed to be sent to the Republicans that we knew they were using their power not for the people but themselves. We wanted to send a clear message to Bush, that we will not stand for his blatant disregard of the United States Constitution. His disregard for the laws of the Geneva Convention, His lies about the Iraq war. And that he has not upheld his promise of getting Osama Bin Laden. Osama roams free.
We wanted to send the message that we will not stand by and watch as he raises the deficit at an alarming rate, which is completely out of control. No fiscal responsibility. Very little use of diplomacy in foriegn and domestic issues.

I think that in the last several election cycles more people have voted against than have voted for. A sad commentary on the state of our political system.

I voted for a Republican when I saw fit (actually, only for the Governor) and a Democrat or Independent when I saw fit.
