Because everyone is sick of republicans and their policies. People felt that if their democrats in the senate the war in Iraq would be over soon. Basically with democrats in the senate and in congress, there wouldn't be any more senseless things happen.

The Abuse of Power was the number one thing, and the lies. I think it was more about the incompetence, of the two items listed. Some of the corruption to be truthful.

Bad press. Will the Democrats create more entitlements or will they have a plan. Will the plan be take from those that create wealth or encourage wealth creation?
The Republicans had started being too much big government!

I guess corruption more than anything. Many of them did not keep the promises they made before they came to Washington.

the big lie! They led the country down the garden path of plunder, corruption, scandal, illegal invasion, torture, wire tapping, illegal detensions, outsourcing jobs for corporate benefit, etc, etc, etc,
