We finally put them together and before they started to fght they started to get to know each other. Then Patches( wants to be the top guinea pig) bites Peanut. I don't know what to do! Pleae someone help me! Someone who has or had experience! Anyway I can make them become closer? i don't want to get rid of Patches.

Same thing happened to me. 1st separate them with mesh or something they can smell each other and become comfortable. 2nd take away the mesh for short periods of about 15 minutes at a time 3 times a day for at least 3 days. If Patches gets aggressive try putting them in a pen away from the cage together, so they're in a new territory that does not belong to either of the g.pigs. 3rd after they seem to get along keep them together in the same cage with 2 bowls and 2 water bottles so each g. pig has their own. 4th When they seem to get along take the extra set out.

Also it's OK for Patches to nip at Peanut. Patches is just putting Peanut in his/her place. Just let them be, if you interfere you will only make it worse. The only time you should interfere is if Patches draws blood from Peanut.

My g. pig, Nibbles lost her roommate so we got 2 new g. pigs. When we got them they were so small we worried that Nibbles would hurt them but after a few nips she adopted them as her own. And now a year later they are all happy and healthy.

About the only thing that you can do is to keep the guinea pigs in seperate cages. Patches has the right to be the "Top Guinea Pig", since she's been there the longest.
If you leave them in the same cage together, they will kll each other.

Good luck.

This is really off the wall, but it works...rub some body spray onto both pigs (same scent on both)...this covers the scent of them, and they can't tell the others scent. We did this with my brother-in-laws pigs and it worked.

If this does not work, I'd keep them separate. Also, it the cage big enough for two pigs?

Good Luck!

You don't have to get rid of her. Put the cages right next to each other. Then after a few days put the girl in the boys cage.

I'd suggest keeping them seperate, and introducing them in neutral territory (a playpen perhaps). Not either of their cages, as that will be asking for a dominance battle. Also, make sure they are both female, or else that'll cause problems, as well.

keep them separate. if they are both females it shouldnt be that dangerous but if they are fighting then u should keep them in separate cages and when u put them together like for playtime or something make sure keep a close eye on them
