1. This answer should be x = 1/2 or .5 expressed as a decimal fraction, not .6.
Isolate the variable on one side of the equation to get:
x-3x = -2-(-1)
-2x = -2+1
-2x = -1
x = -1/-2
x = 1/2
2. This answer is correct.
3. This answer is also correct.
4. The answer here is x = -3/2. Just divide both sides of the equation through by 2. Remember, whenever we divide a positive number into a negative number or a negative number into a positive number, the quotient is always negative. Writing the above answer as a decimal fraction yields x = -1.5, not x = 1.6.

no 1. answer is wrong...it should be .5
explanation:
1x+-1=3x + -2
in order to answer this
1. your have to transfer nos..similar variables...
1x should be placed on the other side of the equation
and -2 on the other side; such that
-1 +2=3x-1x ; if the no. is transfered the sign become the opposite (+) will become (-) and (-) becomes (+)
so that solving it -1 + 2 is = 1 ; 3x-1x is 2x
1=2x
1=2x and in order to get the value of x divide bothe equation by 2
giving you 1/2 or 1.5
same thing with no. 4 question...the answer is wrong..it must be -1.5 or -3/2

1) 1x+-1=3x+-2
x - 1 = 3x - 2
1 = 2x
x = 1/2
2) 2+1x=-6
2 + x = -6
x = -8
3) 1+1x=2x+-1
1 + x = 2x - 1
2 = x
4) 2x = -3
x = -3/2
I recommend never using decimals unless you are specifically instructed to do so or you are doing currency equations. Stick with fractions. They are more accurate.

1) 1x+-1=3x+-2
x - 1 = 3x - 2
- 2x = 1 {add 1, subtract 3x}
x = - 1/2 {divide by 2}
2) 2+1x=-6
x = -8 {subtract 2}
3) 1+1x=2x+-1
- 1x = - 2 {subtract 2x, subtract 1}
x = 2
4) 2x=-3
x = -3/2 {divide by 2 - exact answer}

1) 1x -1 = 3x -2>>> add two to both sides and subtract 1 x from each side 1=2 x>>>> x=1/2 or .5
2) subtract 2 from both sides>>>x=4
3) add 1 to each side and subtract 1 x from both sides>> x=2 hooray you got one right!!!
4) x= - 1.5 pretty close

a) No
b) Yes
c) Yes
d) No
You can always check your answers by substituting in the value you find and seeing if you get a true statement. For instance, let's try it with a)
1(.6) + (-1) = 3(.6) + (-2)
(.6) + (-1) = (1.8) + (-2)
(-.4) = (.2)
Since -.4 does not equal .2 this means that the answer for x is not correct.

1) subtract both sides by 1x and you get -1 = 2x -2
now add 2 to both sides and you have 1=2x
then divide both sides by 2 and you get 1/2 = x
2) subtract both sides by 2 and you get 1x = -8
which is the same as x = -8
3) subtract both sides by x and you get 1 = x - 1
now add 1 to both sides to get 2 = x
4) divide both sides by 2 to get x = -3/2 = -1.5
