you dont need to giver her any other liquid yet. many babies don't have to start eating any real food untill 6 months. you can check out www.kellymom.com its all about breastfeeding and i'm sure they talk about introducing other foods and liquids. also a baby does not need apple juice as a snack or a change of pace.

My son is three months old now and I'm breastfeeding and I don't think I'm going to give him anything else to drink until after he's started solids. Also if you do give her juice make sure that you dilute it 50/50, maybe even more so with apple juice because it can be pretty hard on their stomachs ( at least with my 2 older ones...they could never really tolerate it.) White grape is much easier on their little tummies.

NORMAL. He's normal. Breastfed babies can go 10-14 days with only a single poop. By this time baby uses milk so efficiently, there's sometimes no waste to turn into poop. Don't worry. THIS IS NORMAL. My babies after 6 weeks of age until they were almost 8 months only went once a week. Don't mess around with him, leave him alone :)

She doesn't need anything but breastmilk for the first 6 months. Really. You can provide everything she needs. :-) I've had three babies and exclusively nursed all of them for the first 6 months.

As for "a change of pace," your milk flavor changes a bit based on what you eat, so she's constantly experiencing slightly different tastes! Trust me, she isn't bored with the menu. :-)

She can start solids around 6 months of age. Mashed bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes are excellent first foods. She can also have sips of water from a sippy cup to wash the solids down at that time.

You do not need to give her any other liquid. Babies do not need snacks. If you give her the apple juice she may never drink breast milk again. One of my grand daughters stopped drining her formula and would drink only the apple juice. We used the yogurt apple juice and made sure she had vitamins including D. Breast milk is best. Now if you were making fresh apple juice its different but the commercial stuff is not all they want you to think it is.

I did not give juice until 6-7 months when I wanted to start him getting use to a sippy cup, and when he got constipated. It was mostly water but juice to give it a new flavor. BF babies do not need juice or water until after 6 months.

I used to let my baby play with a bottle of water at that age. Then one day he drank most of it and ended up with diarrhea so bad there was blood in it. I would wait until 6 months or longer for juice because it is even more likely to cause diarrhea.

I would personally limit the juice. its a lot of sugar. I give juice once in a while (one or two ounce maybe every few weeks?)...or if she is not pooping well and it real hard (since she started solids) ill give her some - my pediatrician recommends NO JUICE only when she poops hard to help soften it (apple juice)

They recommend you don't, but then they recommend alot of things! My daughter is 3 months and I plan to start her on rice cereal next month. If you want to give juice, either dilute it or buy the juice in the baby aisle at the supermarket. She's your baby and you should do what you think is right. I am reading a book called Babies by Dr Christopher Green, get it! He advises that you don't pay too much attention to the guidlines as that is all they are, and do what feels right.

Just don't give her undiluted juice (especially apple or orange) as it can give her an upset tummy.

I exclusively breastfed my son, and I asked my pediatrician about other beverages...he told me just water. He said that juice has a lot of sugar and baby doesn't need it.

My little guy still only drinks water & milk.
