Is substance more important than style?

I am writing an english essay, and im stuck. any help would be awesome, specifically examples, links maybe?

You need a little of both, but my vote would be for sbustance. If it's all flash but no content, it's really just a bunch of B.S.

From my experience, no substance is not more important than style. Even if you have fab. ideas, they're useless if you can't share them in an effective manner. I'm in IB11 right now and my eng. teacher always says that my ideas are great, it just doesn't "flow." I've gotten 24 check marks on a paper once, and received a 4/6 on that lol
