I have been told that rap music and hip-hop music is just nasty and non-fit to listen to....I disagree....I mean yeah, there are a few words in some of the artist's lyrics, but I don't think that it's necessarily bad....you don't have to "absorb" the lyrics....the beat and the sound of rap/.hip-hop music to me is exilirating!!...

hey i just got into rap myself about two years ago...i came form a very religious home where it wasn't allowed...but it really isn't all bad...some of it is just shameless excess(bling-bling, hoes, and fast cars)...which i really don't like...but i suggest you buy some Tupac albums as well as the roots, and common...their songs usually have a message and some nice beats...you will get tired of hearing about hoes and money after awhile...their music is really refreshing!

I agree that rap music is not bad; its the words some choose to express that may be inapropriate for some listeners; it is due to this that it has recieved a bad rep; but that is usually by parents who don't want their children listening to such volatile or disgusting lyrics. I agree with that but I also remember when I was a teen and loved to listen to the kinds of music not approved by parents, so I guess it boils down to personal tastes; it's just how far you will take it that is the question.

Rap is now a vulgar form of pop music contained in the eyes of many. that's not that sizable a deal to me the two, exceedingly with the aid of fact it retains each and every of the rappers i admire under-favored and hungry. Musicians oftentimes do their superb artwork that way. I also have a egocentric love/hate relationship with this modern-day era in hip hop. On one hand, it sucks that mainstream rap has been relegated to cheesy pop music that early rap artists foresaw and now lament. on the different hand looking stable new rap songs now feels plenty greater pleasurable now than it did a decade in the past while i assume you will possibly desire to assert the kind became into greater desirable. I extraordinarily plenty get all my hip hop music from be conscious-of-mouth at the instant, and that i savour a brilliant sort of modern-day underground hip hop as much as I savour the favored stuff from the "golden years" of rap (each time that became into, looking on who you ask).

Well, if you are just hearing the music and not the lyrics then you aren't really into it. To me when any musical lyrics condone drugs, violence and sex, especially crimes against any other person, I beleive it is not good. Good music talks about love, hope, sorrow and mending hearts. So, that's the problem I have with some of it, not all of it is that way so, I don't dislike it all.

Rap music is great!

I love how they constantly use grammatically correct sentences and words. I also enjoy what they write about, because I totally identify with wearing "bling," rolling in a Bentley, chillin' wit my homies, drankin' forties, and slapping hoes.

Rap music is destroying the moral fiber of society. I mean, it even messed up YOUR spelling. Look, just because you like to f*ck black men doesn't mean WE have to like rap music. Try f*cking a monkey; they're practically the same, but monkeys smell better.

to fully understand and love hip hop music, you have to live it. there's a whole culture that we breathe and live by. to fully absorb and let the rhythm of the beats hit you, you'd have to be apart of our culture. if you don't understand our culture you will never fully understand the songs we put out.
rap is sumthing we do. hip hop is sumthin we live. listen to other artists depending on your surroundings and up bringings. their are many artist who tell the tale of where you're coming from. not just the cuss words, chicks, and money lifestyle. their are still artists who don't cuss or rap about those things.

To me, rap music is just some angry guy standing around yelling into a microphone. No offense. I do like some hip-hop music though.

Thats just it there's just beats and someone talking and ryming.I dont have respect for rap at all.I play guitar and listen to rock music.I feel to get my respect as a musician you need to play a instrument or be able to sing one.I would rather listen to bluegrass than rap and i dont like blugrass either. Also i dred the fact of my children hearing the garbage when they get older. The last think i want is my daughter to dance like a slut shaking here butt to somebody with gold teeth and the underware and towel showing .No disrespect to you but i do not care for this style of noise.
