I have yet to start my period and i am 3 days late. But, i still get cramps, my face is broken out horribly, and i am extremly bloated yet. I have been under a lot of stress and also my doctor changed a dosage of a medication i am on. What do you think would cause me not to have started my period yet? This is really stressing me out even more. Please help me!!

Its most likely your body is stressed. Although this has happened to me before as well, It could be a number of things why you arent getting your period a cyst on your ovaries..etc. Go to your doctor or walk in clinic, and get checked just to be on the safe side, in the meantime take up some relaxing techniques, ie - meditation or walking or something to keep your mind at ease.

That is not abnormal. Stress can affect your cycle as can new medications. Some cycles are like clockwork while others vary a day or two each month. You could be regular for years and then be off a couple of days. If you do not have your period in the next 3 to 4 days, then contact your physician.

A lot of things can cause a late period.... stress for one. give it some time, and if you don't have a period for a couple more weeks, do another pregnancy test. If it's negative, consult a physician to see if anything else might be causing it. Some medications can have an effect as well.

Best Wishes,

Sue

How long has it been since you had sex? Store brand tests usually aren't reliable until 3 - 5 weeks after intercouse. What's the medication for? A lot of meds can have an effect on your regular cycle, just like stress.

You should go see your doctor for a blood test on the pregnancy, and as her about the meds your on, and what side effects they have.

3 days late is nothing to worry about. Stress once caused me to skip my period completely for several weeks. Just relax and give it some time. If it doesn't start in another week or two and you think you might be pregnant, you can go to the doctor to make sure.

What you described are the symptoms of you not getting your period in time.
Stress, change of dosage in a medication- are more than sufficient to delay your period.

It happened to me so many times- and the best remedy is just forget about all this and get more sleep.
Another thing I find useful- and it works for me- is to have more sex during these days. It has something to do with the blood being concentrated in the genital area.
Good luck.

You need to relax and I bet you will start it. A lot of the time when you are stressed out, this can cause your body to act differantly. and if your doctor changed your medication, that can also affect it. If you are still feeling uneasy about it you can go to your doctor and have them do a blood test and that will tell you for sure. Good Luck!

Honey I had false negatives during my entire pregnancy. 15 years ago I took several home pregnancy test that were negative. I finally went to my ob/gyn who did a blood test to confirm my pregnancy. When I was 8 months pregnant the test still read negative. This happened with all 3 of my pregnancies.
You should see your family Dr. for a blood test to confirm a negative home test.

Missing periods is common today with UNNATURAL things like pollution and medication. Medications have many side effects and can kill you even though perfectly safe like Vioxx was.

Site below explains how you can also not have periods even though you are in great health and not be a problem.

The comb. of your pills and stress may be causing this. If this happens frequently though, it may be a sign of endometriosis. Take 2 ibprofen and a warm bath. it will help a lot. Thermacare might help too.
